Over 60% of students in the P4H school network are at risk of dropping out of school simply because they can’t afford tuition.
The Zoë Scholarship Fund exists to change that.
By covering the tuition of brilliant students facing extreme financial need, this fund is changing lives.
P4H Global is one of the largest teacher training nonprofits in Haiti. As our trainers travel, equip, and strengthen schools, we encounter the same heartbreaking reality again and again: bright, high-performing students are forced to leave school, non because they lack ability, but because they cannot afford tuition. The Zoë Scholarship Fund is changing this.
The Story of Zoë
Zoë Valentina Leiniz loved the children of Haiti. Though she was only eight years old, her compassion reached far beyond her years. She carried deep within her a fierce conviction for children she had never met.
Our Co-Founders, Drs. Bertrhude and Priscilla, would often share stories with Zoë about students in Haiti who loved school deeply but were unable to attend because their families could not afford tuition. Those stories stayed with her. They moved her. So much so that she Zoë did something about it.
Without being prompted, without hesitation, Zoë decided to give her entire life savings to support Haitian students. While most children her age were thinking about toys or treats, Zoë was thinking about tuition, opportunity, and children sitting in classrooms with hope for their future. More than that, Zoë was reflecting on Matthew 25:40. She believed the words of Jesus when He said, “Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for Me.” To Zoë, giving to these children was not charity. It was love for Jesus.
Sadly, on January 17, 2026, Zoë passed away in a tragic car accident. Though she was taken from us far sooner than anyone could have imagined, her legacy did not end that day. One of the ways her legacy of generosity and compassion and love will continue is through what we at P4H Global are calling, the “Zoë Fund”.
HOW YOU CAN HELP
Through the Zoë Fund, P4H Global will provide scholarships to students who are at risk of leaving school simply because they cannot afford tuition. In Haiti, the average annual cost of education, including books and uniforms, ranges from $100 to $250 USD. For many families, that amount is insurmountable.
The Zoë Fund will directly cover these costs, removing the financial barrier that stands between a child and their education. What feels impossible for a family can be transformed through one gift. Through this fund, students will remain in classrooms, continue their studies, and step toward a future filled with dignity and opportunity.
