P4H Advocate Stories

We asked a few of our advocates why they decided to partner with P4H Global on a monthly basis. Here are their stories.

We chose to be P4H Advocates because we wanted to invest and donate to an organization that is making a sincere and effective change in Haiti. P4H is an organization that we wholeheartedly trust to find the needs of the Haitian people from the source, the actual Haitian people, and build/execute programs to bring about those needs sustainably. We have seen the evolution of the organization since 2011 and it has only been improving and empowering Haitians to rise up.

Mark & Grace

I believe in what P4H is trying to achieve - as a teacher and administrator, I believe that development is best achieved when you teach someone rather than do for them. I began to support P4H when the first teacher's conference was in its planning stages. I believe in P4H's professional development- train the trainers. Sustainability makes a greater impact! If you train the trainers, the impact is multiplied by the number of attendees. Do the math - how many are impacted each time P4H has had any type of conference? The fact that my sister is one of its co-founders, is simply icing on the cake. The question is not "Why do I financially support P4H?" but rather, "Why NOT financially support P4H?"

I've been fortunate to see P4H (then, Project for Haiti) grow over the past few years. When I lived in Gainesville, I knew several people who supported P4H in numerous ways - from strategic planning to mobilizing volunteers to attending mission trips. I was blessed to be nominated and voted into the Board of Directors in 2013 and am proud of the exponential growth of the number of lives impacted by P4H. I'm proud to support this organization each month - it's a small way to affirm my vote of confidence in the work of the team.

Hannah & Travis

I believe that P4H is doing incredible things to support the people of Haiti and doing it differently and MUCH BETTER than other "charity" organizations. I support the organization because I know that the leaders of P4H aim to further the gospel and glorify Jesus with every initiative, while simultaneously working towards sustainable development in the lives of the Haitian people. The leadership of P4H does not treat Haitians as people in need of charity and "American saviors" to come in and fix everything, but instead see the incredible potential for growth in a beautifully resilient and strong population of people. Leadership of P4H understands and practices the notion of "Give a man a fish and feed him for a day, teach him to fish and feed him for a lifetime." I support financially because I know that my money will not just be given as charity, but that it will be used to equip and empower people to improve their lives and in doing so, improve the lives of those around them, and in doing that, improve the quality and economy of the country as a whole.

Jamie & Frank

I support P4H because I know the founders and understand where their hearts lie. I think that the goal of changing how missionary work and charitable giving are approached is a good one and necessary. And although I haven't been to Haiti, I like knowing that I can do something to help lift them up.

Cristina & RyanI fully believe in the value that God gave each individual person. When people are devalued or looked down on, it truly makes me angry. I want to help restore Haitians' dignity by reminding them (and Americans) of who they are.
